My new flash drive has great read but abysmal write speed. To the point that running portable apps can be very very slow at times. So I fired up FileMon to see where most of the write activity was coming from in the hopes of then curbing it. Among other things I noticed FirefoxPortable.exe (from the latest 3.0, launcher version 1.5.14.0) is constantly looking for :\PortableApps\FirefoxPortable\PSAPI.dll As in several times per second.
I copied in the latest verion of PSAPI.dll to see what would happen, and now FFP is opening PSAPI.dll for read several times per second.
I've searched the forums for psapi.dll and haven't found anything useful.
I've searched the launcher source for psapi.ddl and found nothing.
Can anyone shed some light on what exactly the launcher is doing with psapi.dll and why it needs to do it so often?
Thanks!

I thought maybe, but none of the other portable apps I try are accessing PSAPI.DLL at all.

Hi,
I know this is an old post but the problem never seems to have been rectified - does anyone know what psapi.dll is and why it's being called so often?
Thanks
