good question

I hope so too. Hope PortableApps won't stop releasing FFP 2 updates as long as they are available.

Be aware

that Firefox update 2.0.0.15 might be coming from Mozilla.com. If you have auto-updating turned on in Tools>Options>Advanced>Update, this allows for updates from Mozilla. In the Firefox support page, it's recommended to turn off auto updates, because the Mozilla updates aren't compatible with the PortableApps.com version of Firefox. Mozilla updates will turn a PortableApps version into a fully installed version.

Humm...

Mozilla updates will turn a PortableApps version into a fully installed version.
Not really, this will affect only the computer where FF is updated on.
From your last link:
Firefox's updater has a bug where a portable or secondary install of Firefox will overwrite the locally installed Firefox's registry settings when version update is performed.
So, if you update your local install of FF after updating the portable version, it would reverse the issue.

Alive and kicking!

Patience, it was just

Patience, it was just released.

I'm sure John will be releasing it soon.
My question is where will we be putting the 2.0.0.x updates, I assume we will not give them their own page but we should make them easy to find while people are going thru the migration process of dealing with the quirkyness of FF3 and waiting for AddOn updates.

My bad

I thought I'd read in a post somewhere, that an update from Mozilla was basically
like downloading Firefox from Mozilla and that it installed natively onto your computer. Sorry for the bad info.

that was correct. using

that was correct. using auto-update on a portable version will leave all the registry keys that firefox normally creates in place, and will redirect a local install to the portable install
