I was trying this on a few devices and never got any files copied to the root of a pendrive.
PS. You've never asked if admin account is needed
Should provide as much info as possible. Requiring admin rights means its not 100% portable, which is information that most people would like to know.

1)removing the source folder from /others creates a new one containing only the five files mentioned above when you run the launcher
-> no copies to the root
2) using the .ini file to disable the splash screen copies the five files to the root of the pendrive
3)removing sourcefolder, leaving .ini next to the launcher, running the launcher -> source folder is further on missing but the five files are copied to the drive´s root
