If I decide to use Pidgin-Encryption 3.0 or Pidgin-OTR 3.2 and my contact is not using it are messages that I send and recieve still encrypted and invisible to my ISP? Or both contacts have to use those "add-ons" to make the chat encrypted. I don't care if the chat isn't completely encrypted. Is it invisible for my ISP if only 1 party (me) is using it?

Both ends have to be using the plugin. Otherwise the person you sent the encrypted message to can't decrypt it to read it.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Thanks for clearing the things up John. I guess the same applies for Miranda.
Sure thing. It applies to everything, really. It's the way encryption works.
Oh, and to clarify, your traffic is never really 'invisible'. They can still tell you are communicating over IM, which network and, possibly, to whom (I'm not sure about that). They just can't read any of the messages.

Unless if they can somehow decrypt the messages. Or hack my comp. I guess...
