Hello,
I recently started using PA.
When you install Notepad++ (normal version) you can make it replace normal Notepad when viewing source with IE. Is this possible with Notepad++ (portable) aswell?
Thank you!

One thing about portable apps is the fact they don't leave tracks behind. This makes it impossible for windows to know the program exists unless it is a running process. And unless you have Portable Internet Explorer, which you don't, I would say it's not feasible.
A possible solution may be using Portable Firefox and set whatever settings you like.
It's probably not possible. Notepad++ sets a key in the registry to become the default HTML reader. Modifying the registry like that is not really portable.

Well, if i knew how it changes the registry I could write a little app that automates this for me and make it run with PA... or something like that. Seems quite feasable to me.
Or you could use Firefox and follow this http://www.blogsdna.com/372/21-aboutconfig-hackstweaks-for-firefox-3.htm (number 17)
Firefox is not my main browser, so that's not an option. Thanks for the replies though.
I wanted to say that I've found a sollution for this. Even though it goes against the PA way by leaving data I think it's pretty usefull. I've also managed to get the context menu working that says 'Edit with Notepad++' on certain files.
If anyone is interested I will put some stuff online.
Hi!
I understand that portable apps should not leave tracks in the computer, but I would like to have this as an option, often I install PA in work computers and such. Putting it in the registry would be a bit as putting a shortcut to the app in the quick launch menu, something that PA should not do by default but that I can do manually. It would not be bad if NP++ had this as a button somewhere in the config.
Regards and thanks.
