Virtual DJ Trial/All Trialware/PortableApps

First i would like to say this site is cool, next, i need to know a "Legal""Legal""Legal""Legal"... i want to know a legal way to restart the trial version of Virtual DJ or anyway to redownload the trial... if that is not possible legally...then i need step by step instructions on how to take this program out of my registry actually how to uninstall any trialware or software off of my computer... also if that isn't enough i need to know where you can download a Vista Installation disk (which did not come with the computer) weird???... also, (bear with me), i need to know how to gain access (on my computer) to every single file i ever installed or every single file that is on my computer so i can delete uninstall any thing (even left over traces from trailware/demoware/software/freeware/and fakeware (it's fake i just like putting ware on things... ALSO>>>h he he ... how do you create your own dj programs like how would i make a program just like virtual dj seriously that program is unratted compared to these fake dj programs i see so how would i create that type of program??? ANYONE AT ALL HELP ME ON THIS and i noticed that there are forums entries on here from 2 years ago that are unanswered what's THAT ...Thanks in Advance...

Lets see if i followed

Lets see if i followed this.

1. Thanks, I agree, it is a cool site, all the members here seem to think so as well

2. A trial is limited, so there probably isn't a truly legal way to make it work, but, by using a utility called Run As Date, you can launch the application, and trick it into thinking it's running at a much earlier date. (This is not a crack/key/hack type app, so while still shady, it's more "legal" than other methods)

3. Use the normal windows add/remove programs dialog, then run CCleaner. They offer a portable download on this page.

4. If the machine doesnt have a restore disk, it should have a hidden section of the harddrive for restoring the operating system. Provide more info on the system and I'll help more. (Brand, Model, year you got it, anything else you think may be useful)

5. Not sure about setting up that file access in Vista

6. To uninstall anything, use Add/Remove Programs, DO NOT just delete the files.

7. Look for alternatives. Try a google search for Virtual DJ alternative. Look at Mixxx. You could also try browsing SourceForge for dj applications. If you really want to create your own, pick a programming language and start by learning that.

If license states that you

If license states that you can use the program for no more than XXX, using RunAsDate to run it longer is exactly as illegal as cracking.
But harder to prove.

You can't really protect

You can't really protect files on a CD without locking the user out completely. You could look into DRM through iTunes or similar (I have no idea how one would go about this, so don't ask me) if you really feel the need to protect the files.
Again, if you really like Virtual DJ, buy a license.

As for hosting, free hosting services tend to place ads on your pages and/or have low bandwidth and storage limits. Fine for a personal site, but if you plan to use a hosting service to distribute your music, you'll likely have to pay (how much depends on how much traffic your site will get).

As for creating an application, you're way over your head (considering you don't even know where to start). Even programming with very high-level languages is no small task.

1. Alright, that's fine.

1. Alright, that's fine. Sorry for suggesting it, but not making it clear that it is still illegal

2. there's no R in my last name ;). I really don't know much about creating your own website, but i do know there are plenty of free hosting options out there. they aren't necessarily fully-customizable, and the host may force you to include small adds on your page, but there are options. buying your own domain name is fairly cheap if i remember correctly, and getting set up with fully-customizable hosting has a small fee attached (depending on popularity of your site, it could be anywhere between $15 per year to several thousand per year)

3. Cool that you're a Christian rapper. What artists do you think you sound similar to, or whose music inspired u? I'm a fan of tobyMac, John Reuben, KJ-52, GRITS and Souljahz.

DRM would be the only option to prevent ripping (I think). I have no clue how to set it up though, and I think getting a license to include DRM in your music is quite expensive. To be completely honest, any sort of protection will be hacked past if somebody wants to do it. It's just a question of when it will happen. Maybe just increasing the cost of your CDs to $5, and using as many free softwares/web hosts/promotions/advertising, and still allowing people to rip the tracks would be a better way to go. I know you'll be losing money if people rip the tracks and distribute them to others, but at least your message is still moving Wink

4. see my comment here for comments about writing your own program.

This site also doesnt want to go into discussion about religion. not because none of us are christian, but because some of us are not, and we don't want to risk PortableApps.com becoming an argument over religious beliefs. (Don't worry we won't ban you as long as you follow the forum guidelines).

Okay.

This is a late reply, I know, but this topic is near and dear to my heart, and I want to get this out.

All that copy protection does to normal users is turn them into the criminals they aren't. Normal people won't be taking your music and putting it out on Bittorrent. Only criminals do that. And criminals know the way around copy protection and DRM. They can get around it. Once again: all that DRM and copy protection does is criminalize its users. The guys that want to do illegal things with it can find a way around it.

Also, there is no way that you can copy protect a CD and let it be played on CD players at the same time. You just can't do that.

Please, don't use DRM. Not a good idea.

If you want to keep using it

If you want to keep using it legally, buy a license. That's it. There are plenty of *illegal* ways, if you want to go that route, however, no one here will help you with that.

no illegal way

There's no *illegal* way, just a few methods and steps that you can use; mainly programs available for *educational purposes*.

If you really want to learn

If you really want to learn to write your own program, asking us to teach you a programming language through the forums probably isnt the best way to do it. forums are inconsistent, we won't always be here when you have a question.

There are many free DJ applications out there already, if you are interested in writing your own, look at Mixxx or search SourceForge for other dj applications. If you find one that you could get by on, but is missing a few features that you want, look at the programming language the software is written in, and spend time on google searching for tutorials on that particular language.

Google, and looking at existing examples is how the developers here learned to program.

New Comment For Everyone Who Can Help Again

Ok this is funny because it's like i am a little kid at some computer apps factory just learning the ropes from all these grown up people... (it's weird cuz i am probably bigger than everyone here combined) but that's not the point the point is..."There is no "I" in team, but there is an "I" in "PIE")(my favorite is pecan...) Ok seriously i am back with more questions/comments...
1.Sorry, i didn't know that religion wasn't disscussed on this site my badness..
2.since this is the off-topic place i want a question answered there is this site called acapellas4u.co.uk and you have to login just like this site so you can download acapella (im a rapper/dj) and i want to know is that site legal cuz i dont want to be downloading illegal stuff as i always mention i like to stay within the law (R.I.P. RunAsDate) but i would like to know is that stuff legal and if it isn't can anyone give me a site that has christian instrumentals or acapellas so i could "freely" download them "legally" for free...
3.Ok to the guy who asked who i rap like... well i rap more like kinda...
(Quest the Wordsmith mixed with all of Cypress Hill with a little bit of KJ Five Tweezy wit and some hardcore Thousand Foot Krutch intensity mixed with Static X(If they were christians) combined with a little bit of you and a little bit of me... yeah) you take all of that, add in a bible mixed with 80g of Protien Drink a day mixed with some freeweights,FL Studio,AudacityPortable,Mixcraft,VirtualDJ,and a labtop and you get...Me O_O!

Christian?

For a self-professed bible/christian rapper, you sure seem interested in doing lots of things that are not exactly "christian".... perhaps the "rapper" part is getting too much emphasis?

Of course!

That's correct - no politics or religion.

I never did say if his religion was good or bad, just that he didn't seem to walk his talk. That was my only observation.

Take it out to the streets or parking lots.... I guess the generation and geography matter for a person's choice of colloquialism.

This thread...

As I read over every comment in this thread I noticed that in my first visitations to the site, I had less than stellar behavior problems. For what it's worth, I apologize.

In reply to ryan2009george...
I have since then ceased from use of Virtual DJ, seeing as how I am no longer interested in the type of music I once was. As for posting your serial for someone other than yourself to access, that my friend would be illegal.

Wow is in a good sense, as you are much more calm, understandable, rational, coherent, pleasant to talk to, and you don't type in caps anymore Biggrin

Anyway, you're right, and if we call Tim or any of the mods I am sure the serial can be removed soon. I'll see what I can do.

What's wrong with putting your serial...

Well if you give out your serial then that defeats the purpose for others of buying the software and purchasing their own serial, which in turn with drive the company which makes Virtual DJ bankrupt. If only one person ever bought Virtual DJ and that person gave out the serial for others to use then who would need to buy their own? They could all use the same serial and never pay for the software which will drive the company out of buissness sooner or later because they wouldn't make a profit. So that is what wrong with giving out your serial.

the serial is your liscense

the serial is your liscense to use the program and it violates the EULA to make your liscense public. on top of that it (your serial) may be blocked for upgrades or even if you have to reinstall the program you may be forced to purchase a new serial due to it having been made public.
