i can suggest REAPER as a nice "portableapps" application.
it is one of today's greatest audio/midi editors.
reaper has a ".bat" file to install it from harddrive on an usb-device.
i run it today manualy from usb-stick on my pc & mac

So you want a PAF compatible version? Seems interesting...
I would like it done, too. It would need to be compressed some though, at about 1gb recommended install space (minimum is 10mb, so alot probably isn't in the minimum.)
NOTE to potential developers: The most that could be done is a launcher. REAPER is closed source. pay to use software.
(As a side note: it took me a while to find the license, for next time post information about the license in the request post)
