man u3 "religion" sucks...i mean...sheesh..you need buy the softwares...no wonder portableapps "religion" is better...so ..i've decided to install portableapps in my sandisk 8gb...but i want to restore u3 back ...just for safe keeping...
how do i restore it , what do i use to restore it , can it be restored , how do i remove u3 from my pen drive...

If you have a Sandisk drive you can use their Installer. Just make a backup before you do anything.
Maybe the Sandisk installer works for other manufacturers too, I dunno.

Whenever you rip the heart out of something it is best to anticipate you May not be able to put it back
Be prepared that this Could turn out to be a one way street.
If you are not prepared for the Possibility that you may not get your U3 back to exactly the way it was, you should not do this.

I have a cruzer micro 1GB flash drive from sandisk. I'm pretty sure you can reinstall it back onto your flash drive. But just to make sure, go to the sandisk website and make sure they have an installer for your drive.

woo!...so i took a deep breath and uninstalled the u3..then installed u3....it was like brand new...well..the guts of my thumb drive wre exactly the same as when i first plugged in...

Sandisk usually doesn't have any problem when it comes to uninstalling and reinstalling. Glad to see that everything worked out.

huh, I have a 2GB sandisc cruzier mini, I didn't know you could uninstall and reinstall the crappy U3 stuff. I've never seen an installer for that on the sandisc website. I think you guys are pulling my leg here.

Try google. I searched for "sandisk u3 installer" and the first result was this and it lead me right to the right page.
