PortableApps.com, not PA.com

This is a note for all users in the PortableApps.com Community:

The URL and company name of this site is PortableApps.com, NOT PA.com. PortableApps.com does not own PA.com and likely never will, as it belongs to an established company running over 50 years. Therefore, when referencing this site (especially in-forum), please make all attempts to write PortableApps.com/portableapps.com and never PA.com/pa.com. The only other URL I'm aware of that will redirect to PortableApps.com is PortableApps.org. Also, when possible (it's always possible! :P), please write out PortableApps.com and not PA, as this is also where some confusion can occu

Thank you for your cooperation in the matter and we apologize for any inconvenience in advance. Wink

Minor Correction

We're not PortableApps, we're PortableApps.com. The project, platform, etc are all called PortableApps.com. Just like OpenOffice.org is called OpenOffice.org and not OpenOffice or Open Office.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Yeah

The URL and company name of this site is PortableApps.com. Only reason I said use PortableApps and not PA in the later part of the paragraph was because people tend to use PA a lot, so PortableApps is deff. better, but PortableApps.com is obviously what should be used. But I tried to make that clear in the first sentence.

Edit: Fixed up that bit in the main post now.

how about using the ...

PAM as PortableApps.com Menu shorthand?

Don't be an uberPr∅. They are stinky.

As it is the shorthand for

As it is the shorthand for the PAM itself is therefore ok in forum discussions. In press release and the like it should be referred to as the PortableApps Menu (PAM) from Portableapps.com

Its the site name that seems to be the concern.

Mmm.

Close. John said above that it's the PortableApps.com Menu, not the PortableApps Menu. Smile

Yes!

Patrick, this is an excellent point. And as an anal, cranky geek, I just had to say this bugged me. Blum

Don't jump on people about it

Patrick, this is not directed toward you Smile

I can see already that people are going to start a "correction" campaign which is going to lead to stupidity Sad

Patrick has made a suggestion, it is a good one.

Do Not start jumping on people every time they do it the wrong way. It will do nothing but start bumping posts and annoying people.

I will start deleting any post whose "sole" content is:
"Its PortableApps.com not PA" or the like.

If there is no other feed back you could give the members post other than that, it's best to let someone who is also providing other feed back to mention it.

Or...

If this eventually gets really buggy, somebody could always write a filter that replaces PA with PortableApps Wink
