"Start" meaning execute (or run) 2 copies at the same time....

Or "have" two copies on the PC? To run 2 copies at the same time, you need to edit the FirefoxPortable.ini file (located in FFP/Other/Source)as seen here:

[FirefoxPortable]
FirefoxDirectory=App\firefox
ProfileDirectory=Data\profile
SettingsDirectory=Data\settings
PluginsDirectory=Data\plugins
FirefoxExecutable=firefox.exe
AdditionalParameters=
LocalHomepage=
DisableSplashScreen=false
AllowMultipleInstances=false

I would imagine it's so you can be loggin into the same website

with two different accounts like webmail, myspace, bank accounts, etc. The IE tab works great for that, of course, that does mean that you are using IE and everything will be stored all over the computer and never to be found again.

If that is the case, there is

If that is the case, there is a Firefox extension that may be the solution. I am just beginning to experiment with 'Cookie Swap' which supposedly allows you to switch between sets of cookies on a single copy. I had tried 'Cookie Pie' which allows you to have multiple open copies of the cookies on different tabs, but it doesn't appear to be in the Extensions library anymore.

CookieSwap

CookieSwap, Yes

CookieSway is just awesome, i highly recommend it on FF2
[I have not used it on FF3 yet]
It is just awesome.

It "seems" to me to be completely portable.
I have been using it for about a year.

3 Well Configured Ladies

Some things in life are beautiful. So much so that one just isn't enough. Take for instance that time I had 3 hookers. Now, I could have gone to the ranch and be with just one at a time, but they are portable now so I ordered in. However, just because they can be anywhere now, John likes to keep it 'one-at-a-time'. No triplets for you!

A Firefox in the hand is ... all you get.
