hello im new to this program so i really need help i just got a brand new flash drive from flash disk and tried to install portable apps having fail 5 times now each time something goes wrong the installation finishes with no errors but i cant start the menu or anything when i click the menu icon on my flash drive a little dos box pops up that does nothing and says nothing then goes away it worked fine on my old drive a sandisk cruzer crossfire 2gb but wont work on flashdisk 8gb
If a dosbox appeares, that usually means that the download or a file got corrupted.
Make sure you dont right-click on the download link cause it doesn't work, check the Md5 sum of the Suite-installer you downloaded and your drive for filesystem errors.

If the MD5 hash of the downloaded suite is fine, you might check your hardware (flash drive) for errors. You may use H2testw for this purpose. Follow the directions in the readme.
this is what i got if it is the drive how can i fix it?

use windows to do a "check for errors and if possible fix them".

I recommend to check the whole drive. Delete all files and folders first and run H2testw again.
Any chance you bought this from eBay? Looks like you got a faked drive. It's probably a 1GB drive modded to look like 8GB even though it only holds 1.

A faked drive is my suspicion too, but it's to early to decide. It may be a defective drive. When he posts the result of H2testw for the whole drive we can say ...
He said it was new, so it might be a good idea for him to contact the seller. It doesn't work. Don't care why or how.... just replace it with one that functions.

If he bought in on eBay, the seller probably did it on purpose. Most flash drives sold on eBay, classified ads sites, etc are faked like this. That's why they are so cheap.

His first (best) option is to try talking to the seller. Might get it fixed or his money back, might not. Can't hurt to try....
Besides, if he doesn't do anything, he's still got a paperweight in his hand.
