i posted a link to a program i thought could be a good idea to have converted into a PA version.

this is what was said when i checked it today.

[link to site hosting illegal software removed by moderator JTH]

does this mean that the site that i referred to was blocked from others seeing it.

if so y it was only a suggestion of an app that was a good one and that could be converted into a PA?

It means that the Admin of this site, John (JTH) feels that that site is making available software that it is illegal to distribute. Please understand that we do not allow such links. As the link is now gone I cannot comment on what it linked to and what the problem was.

Explained Here

I explained it in your first post where you linked to the same website:
https://portableapps.com/node/15158

You were linking to a "warez" site. It hosts links to cracked/stolen/illegally packaged software like PhotoShop and PageMaker. Just about everything on that site you linked to is illegal and hosted on temporary servers to avoid tracing the authors.

ok

it was a link to a portable version of e-sword.

if you read the e-sword site. they have produced their software to be free so basically anyone can use it. i found a link to another site from google that had a portable packed version that was good i have intergrated it into PA and it is working great. the topic was about similar programs and i thought that as most of the people there liked using e-sword it was good for them to check out.

i still cant really see the halm in posting the link in these forums, but that is up to the admin, i guess you looked into the tec licence and have issues with them. y not contact them and see if they give permission for e-sword portable to be used in PA.

just my view on the subject. what ever the admin deciced to do with this is up to them.

The Site

It wasn't just their copy of E-Sword (which was probably repackaged without permission, which would be a copyright violation even in the case of freeware), they are also hosting PhotoShop, PageMaker and other warez software. That site you linked to is basically devoted to hosting warez/pirated/illegal software. Sites like that can NOT be linked to from PortableApps.com. We only deal with legal software from legal publishers.

ok i see

so what you are saying is that the site i found was eligel. ok got it.

why not look into the original site then.

www.e-sword.net

they have a pocket version there designed for pocket pc's anyhoo can you look into this site and see if it can be useful or at least if they would let you make a portable version of it legally.

as the potable e-sword is probably illegal as you say i am going to get rid of it.
