Hello there,
I would need some assistance regarding the creation of a "Secure" job, and how to set-up the variables on the file path of each entries I am adding into that job.
Here is the details of what I am trying to achieve
- Encrypt/Decrypt specific files in the Mozilla Firefox profile (keyb3.db, signons3.txt, etc)
- Encrypt/Decrypt the accounts.xml file in the Pidgin user data
To shorten the steps, I'll only take care of entering the accounts.xml file (which is already encrypted).
In the first image, I'm adding the accounts.xml.cpt file in the job list, which is entered as E:\PortableApps\PidginPortable\Data\settings\.purple\accounts.xml.cpt
At that point, I try to change the file path to @drive@\PidginPortable\Data\settings\.purple\accounts.xml.cpt with the far-right icon. However when I select "drive" then press OK, it doesn't seem to affect the file path in the list. (it stays E:\PortableApps\PidginPortable\Data\settings\.purple\accounts.xml.cpt)
Then, I create a new job (called Data), save it with the floppy icon. When I close Toucan and go see the content of my Jobs.ini file I get the following content
[General]
Version=200
[Data]
Locations=#E:\\PortableApps\\PidginPortable\\Data\\settings\\.purple\\accounts.xml.cpt
Function=Decrypt
Rules=
Type=Secure
Can you explain me what I am doing wrong? I guess I'm doing it the same way as in the 1.2.* version, was there anything changed?
I can confirm, I hope to be getting a new version out in the next week or so which fixes this and all the other issues.
Thanks for the reply, I'll be waiting for that new version
I was using the master password in Firefox in the past, but Toucan is much more convenient to secure other applications' passwords files with a single password.
