Is there a difference in speed between the portableapp and the .exe file that you install in your computer? And is it smaller in size compared to the .exe file? Do you remove or sacrifice function?

Most executables are compressed, that's the main reason for big apps being smaller when packed by PA.com.
Performance of running apps is about the same, but memory usage a bit higher, especially when running several instances of the same program (If any PA.com launcher lets you do this, all I tried don't).
Startup performance is usually lower because of launcher, but big, compressed apps on slow pendrives / via USB 1 can actually start up quicker - because they are smaller.
