nobody uses the chatbox...

I frequently check the chatbox john is testing, and nobody is ever on it. i think this could be very useful and people should give it a chance. try it out.

Scheduled stuff

It's just up there to test for now. The plan is to use it for more scheduled chats between devs when they're discussing a certain element of a project. The forums are best, though, for time differences, schedules, etc as people can participate when available. Plus, they're archived and searchable... unlike chat.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

true enough, i was just thinking that it would be great for dev-enduser quick communications. Scheduled chatsn are the kind of thing i was thinking,

IRC

The chatbox is primarily for scheduled meetings, like John said. If you're looking for idle chat, I've been sitting in #PortableApps on FreeNode in IRC. People come and go... Thox is there sometimes.

good to know Rob, thanx, ill

good to know Rob, thanx, ill hit that occasionally now. Have to install chatzilla or put HydraIRC back on my drive.

I was trying above to lament on the fact that there have been no scheduled chats to date. I was of the idea that it could be used for dev discussions of where the site and apps are going. And hopefully we mindless drones [ (:-) ]who use the apps would get to watch and see kinda what you guys do, how you come up with ideas and such. I'm very interested in learning NSIS and trying to figure this stuff out, and i think the community insight from such thing would be great. The forums are great, dont get me wrong. I just think it might help the community be more involved and maybe interested in trying to help out, like I want to do.

As it is, I know some VB.NET because I took a beginners class at my college, and still need to take a programming elective, (I'm a hardware guy by far, but I'd like to try other things, and it's required by curriculum.) I think it could be motivational and insightful for people to educate themselves and try to give back, even on a limited scale.
