Passwords missing

I have seen others post about this problem but have not seen a solution.
Often when TB goes to check mail the p/w entry box is shown and although, often, has a p/w in it with the remember check box unchecked.

Is there any solution to this?

Thanks

Chris

I'm wondering if...

there may be extra or missing password files in your profile, there should be a combination of 7 or more numbers with a .s after it ex: 6542290.s in the Profile folder. There should only be one and the prefs.js (open with Notepad++ Portable)file should have a reference at the very bottom to that file name 6542290.s or whatever you have. It should match, yours may not.

Tried but ......

Hi,

Thanks for the help.
I checked in the profiles and I have 3 prefs.js, prefs-1.js and prefs-2.js. The last two have not been accessed for a long time. Perhaps I should delete them?

I opened prefs.js with Notepad ++ and found the following number near the bottom;

user_pref("wallet.SchemaValueFileName", "95445469.w");
user_pref("wallet.caveat", true);
user_pref("wallet.crypto", true);

user_pref("mail.shell.checkDefaultClient", false);

Looking through the list of files in my profile directory I do not find a file with that number included, nor is there any file with numbers or a .s ext.

If I go to the options in TB and look at passwords, they are all there. I modified one and that changed a file called signons.txt

Thanks for helping.
