Portable Media Player

CoolPlayer is a great portable media player. Filesize just 584kb. Has lots of functionality, I use it to play mp3's on my flash drive.

GSPlayer

I use GSPlayer on my USB thumb-drive, my desktop, and my PocketPC. No issues with MP3 or Ogg. Website: http://hp.vector.co.jp/authors/VA032810/

For portable use, just grab the Windows version, unzip it, and place the entire folder on your USB stick. Around 400K.

Cheers,
QB

I prefer mv2-player - http://mv2.czweb.org .

It's something like Zoomplayer, but it's freeware! DVD, MPEG, MP3, etc. - it plays everything you want.

How to make mv2 portable? - http://www.portablefreeware.com/?q=mv2&m=Search

Fusion uses the DirectShow

Fusion uses the DirectShow filters installed on the computer, so it is NOT independent from the system.

I recommend a player that ships with it's own codecs, like MPlayer or VLC.
Otherwise you may run into a computer that is missing a codec needed to play the one video you need to watch *now*.

Billy

I use Billy, it's small and the 2 features I like about it is it loads all 500+ songs that I have in a second (literally) and I can control it from my keyboard (I just LOVE this feature)
