GIMP freezes on load screen

GIMP freezes on load screen

Every time i start GIMP it freezes and i have to start it again.
Does anyone have a solution for this??

I have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM!

What version of Windows are you using?

(other information might be pertinent too. I assume that you're using the latest version of Gimp Portable, but one should never assume)

Latest version on XP, normal

Latest version on XP, normal GIMP runs fine. The portable version is the only problem. Even if I copy it to the hard drive, it freezes up.
