Can not rid saved addresses from address bar

On the left of the address bar in v3 is a pull down arrow that lists 12 address sites for me. I think they are of sites that were directly typed into the bar but I am not sure, they might be frequently visited sites. No matter what I try and where I look I can not rid it of these addresses. I even have the privacy tab clearing all data each time I close FF and it is still there. I looked through every folder and expected to find a file in the profile subfolder, but I could not. How do I eliminate this from being saved all the time and how do I delete the ones there currently?

Bookmarks?

this bar lists everything: recently visited pages, history, bookmarks. So I guess its your bookmarks showing up.

These are sites that have

These are sites that have been visited, some are book marks, but not all. I do not want them there to be seen. Anyone know how to eliminate them from whatever list it is?

Which One?

There are two. One is part of the back and forward buttons. That's your recent history. To disable it, you need to entirely disable your history in the options. The other is to the right of the address bar. Same deal, you need to entirely disable your history to disable the dropdown.

If you mean the dropdown that appears as you type, it's pulling from your history and your bookmarks. It can be disabled with an about:config hack to disable the awesomebar. Google it.

Sorry, meant the pull down

Sorry, meant the pull down arrow on the RIGHT of the address bar, not left. I have tried disabling history though. I have tried both unclicking all options in history and tried setting history to zero days. Nothing seems to get rid of the links there, even after clearing personal information.

I also am not sure the terms you suggest I google too?
"about:config hack" or FF config hack, or awesomebar hack so far I have not found how to disable all that.

But if you are saying that those listed there are only what is in my bookmarks, there really is not need to disable it I guess as they are not hidden either.
