I recently defragged my primary hard drive. Don't know if it's just coincidence or not, but ever since then the application icons on the PortableApps.com Menu will not display. I have tried refreshing the app icons multiple times to no avail. I have tried ejecting and reinserting the thumb drive, no help. How can I get the app icons to display again? I'm on the verge of formatting the thumb drive and re-installing everything.

This usually occurs when Windows' icon cache gets messed up. You could also reset it by deleting it.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Thanks for the quick response. I had already tried rebooting a few times. I deleted the icon cache file and rebooted. No help. Any other ideas?
Try changing the default program to veiw icons.
Try Windows Veiwer, or Windows Photo Gallery.
Tried your suggestion, rebooted, still no icons on PortableApps.com menu. Gonna back up all my data on the thumb drive, reformat and reinstall.
Kill explorer.exe FIRST, then delete the icon cache from the command line. Then start Explorer again. If you delete the icon cache file while Explorer is still running, Explorer will just recreate the damaged one as part of its normal shutdown procedure.
I formatted the thumb drive and re-installed the PortableApps.com Suite. The application icons still will not display! What gives!? It's not a deal breaker by any means, but the menu just looks plain ugly without the icons.
Did you try it on another PC yet? I'm leaning towards something odd being up with your PC at this point.

Try that. It really shouldn't be doing that.
BTW, What version of windows is it running on?
...so it's unlikely that it is something wrong with the computer. All things are equal between myself and the original poster.
Windows XP
I defragged my portable drive and the icons are not showing. However, I do have some additional information.
I can see the icons on any computer other than the machine used to defrag the drive.
Not sure why this is happening. Any help would be greatly appreciated but then again, it's not critical. My Portable Apps are still working, it's really just a cosmetic thing.
