Portable Firefox Search Bar Problem

I have been having a problem with the Search Box in the top right of Firefox Portable. After a period of use, sometimes weeks-sometimes days, the search box just stops working. I type in a search parameter and click the button (or press enter) and nothing happens.

After some troubleshooting, I have found that I can fix the problem by deleting the file "formhistory.sqlite-journal". Any ideas about what could be causing this?

I have searched for this problem on the forum but didn't see it, so if it is already out there and I missed it, I apologize.

it didnt work for me. i guess its due to malfunc. USB

i think it´s related to USB overload issues.
if the USB hub or ports are very busy, my flash drive stater,
and the address bar ? the search box does not do anything.
a restart of firefox sometimes help.
your suggestion didnt help in my case

thanks Ecto
you saved me! Recently I needed to reinstall whole FF because of that error. How did you figure it out which file to delete?

Portable Firefox Search Bar Problem -- fix

Thanks,

For me I was having similar trouble. Your post suggested the problem was with formhistory.sqlite
On my system moving the file --> formhistory2.sqlite and then copying that file back as formhistory.sqlite fixed the problem.

So thanks.

Matt.
