Is there a newer version than

The CCleaner folks have a fully portable version already, it's the one i use and it's great, it's just not in a .paf format.

It's fully portable.
As long as you don't want to use one of our apps to backup your settings it will make no difference that it is not a .paf format

Sorry for the inconvenience I may have caused for you, or anyone using Ccleaner portable, please check Ccleaner portable post now, I have updated it to allow you to use any ccleaner version, I hope this will prevent more problems as now the folder is just called "ccleaner" without the version number.
