Hardware encryption vs. speed

Hi all,

I'm planning on getting a flash drive with true hardware encryption but I'm wondering about read/write speed. Is Kingston a reasonably fast drive, or is there a faster drive than that?

it depends on encryption

it depends on encryption, for example it is well possible to make 3DES encryption hardware, no processor needed, and the delay in encryption and decryption is even hard to measure.
If it is done by software in the controller of the stick, it can be anything, it depends on how all the software was written.
