I have installed and tried Eraser Portable and found that, unlike the non-portable application that requires installation, it has no menu-context (i.e. right-click) entry associated with it in Windows Explorer. I am not certain if there is anything I might have missed that had resulted in my not being able to locate the menu-context entry. Kindly advise. Thanks.

Its because it is portable, nothing is left behind in the host pc.
But maybe there could be a way around that.
There is no context menu because it is impossible/very hard to first do it and then remove it once you close the programm.

Eraser installs a shell extension via DLL to create the context menu. Those are loaded into the explorer shell and usually require a reboot to remove them completely. This makes such a feature non-portable.
The reason I started this post and asked the question is because I used to install a portable Unlocker 1.8.7 application provided by a website on my desktop, and it had this context menu feature added in.
I wish to thank all who participated in this post.
I have an Unlocker launcher posted on this site as well. It is one of the few shell extensions I have found that you can remove without a reboot.
Also winRaR unplugged. It is portable. It runs and an icon stays in the status bar. As long as the program is active, it still has context and right click menus. When you close the program, the context and right click menus are removed. I don not know if it leaves traces on the computer.
Never use anything like that is my opinion, use 7-ZipPortable

May I ask if it will be acceptable to the developer of Eraser or other portable applications to have an option made available to the user who, provided he/she was informed of the drawbacks or perils in so doing, may choose to turn on the shell extension function to suit his/her preference.
