Looks like a clean log.
horusofoz, in the future, you can avoid posting the full log, or post the log in <pre><code></code></pre> tags. Changes to Prefetch, MRU, MUICache and Software\Microsoft can be safely ignored in post cases.

Strange... I'll check it out
When I launch it it displays the splash screen which goes away and then I here some music but nothing else happens. XP-SP3 on EEE-PC 1000H.

I've just tried it on a different computer and it opened with no problems - is there a minimum (vertical) resolution for this to work?
If you don't do full screen it sets it on a "resolution" 1024x* something like that I think. so if you have a small screen then you wont be able to see all of it and I cant seem to resize it...
Is it minimized or do you see anything of Lincity-NG? :-|
...don't see anything. No app in the taskbar. It seems to abort itself - no error message or anything - just the music stops.
trf197
PS The screen res of the EEEPC is 1024 x 600 - could it be set to run not in fullscreen mode by default? Does it remember settings at the moment - i'll try it again after changing the settings on the other computer...
Edit: Tried to open it again on the EEEPC and it opened ok in window mode (painfully slow to run but that's a different issue) so it might be good to have it open windowed by default?
Started up full screen, but my saved settings worked through shutdown/restart. Now I gotta figure out how to play the game. Superb graphics is about the only other comment I have right now.
wow, I'll try it out now.
All good here on dev test 2 : )

thanks for testing
When I launch this program in a large window (not fullscreen), the first screens come up fine, but when I go to the "new game" option, the options are unreadable and the previous screen is interspersed with the new screen like venetian blinds. This also happens occasionally with the "finances" menu on the right bottom of the window while I am playing. The problem will sometimes correct if I minimize the program window and then restore it.
Otherwise, looking good.
Edit: Forgot to mention this is on an XP PC, running from a portable hard drive, so it's definitely not a drive speed issue.

You may think it's funny,
but it'snot.
Are you sure that your graphic driver or card isnt the problem?
I haven't had any other problems with this graphics card. It's nothing special or unusual - just an out-of-the-box HP Compaq running XP Pro at work. Have a look at these screencaps:

looks like a clean log, but next time, the
C:\WINDOWS\Prefetch\*
files and the HKU keys don't matter and the cache... Well...EDIT: were you using wmplayer aka Windows Media Player or something that used that? anyway, thanks
Sometimes HKU keys do matter.....RegShot reads HKCU as HKU\[number\ for apps that store their settings in HKCU
The developer formerly known as ZGitRDun8705
Used WMP a little while before doing the regshot. Dont know why it appeared in the log. Same thing happened with photoshop a couple days previously when doing a regshot it showed an app I had used before opening up regshot.

Thanks a lot for this. I've been playing it at lunch everyday. Sorry I have nothing to add as far as testing, except that I've been playing it a lot and haven't had any issues with it at all.
thanks for trying it out onestoploser. Thanks
Did not work for me. All I got was a splash screen and nothing else.
Can you give some more details please
OS
Admin Rights
etc
PortableApps.com Advocate
Lincity-NG only gave the portable splash screen and nothing else. Windows XP sp2 with admin rights. No errors and no tasks in task manager.
Can you install Lincity-NG locally on your computer? I was wondering if that works locally.
It is a work computer and should be able to run it just can't install it as it's a work system.
oh, ok. strange...
This is likely something locked down by your companies IT department. Are you able to attempt opening the game on another pc to determine if it is an issue isolated to the work machine or if it is the app itself. As ad hoc as it may sound, performing a fresh install has had innumerable positive results in all types of software so please try this also and let us know how things go. Good luck:-)

Jk
Just saw your post saying Lincity-NG was updated to 2.0 so thought would post this to remind to update
PortableApps.com Advocate
Ok... can I ask you a favor?
Install the 2.0 version from the website to your computer. Check if it works.
It does not seem to work on two of the computers I tried it on.
The 2.0 regular version works fine on my PC.

Hi Kai
just checking if theres any news on this at your end
PortableApps.com Advocate
Well, I want to put the thing to the newest version, but it crashes when I open it so I have no way to testing it... :S
What graphics settings do you have it set to? Is there any error messages, OS, etc?

Lincity-NG 1.1.2 Development Test 3 Download
(HTTP 404 Nicht gefunden)
since ca. 5-8 Month it doesn´t work
Anyone is welcome to pick it up, I don't know why but it crashes on all the computers I run it on.
I've downloaded the base app, but do you still have a copy of your last Development Test that I can download and trawl through.
Mervyn
I hope you find the "bug" and correct this.
Thanks
I think the bug is almost certainly connected to screen resolution on first run. - This is a known "bug" in the current base application that can only be resolved (at present) by self editing one or more xml files referenced on first run. For example, Netbooks can't initially run the program as they don't have the relatively high screen resolution available that's initially demanded by LinCity on its first run through, but they can once screen resolution problem is solved.
If this is correct (and the only difficulty), it shouldn't present too much of a problem to get an updated Development Test put together. I will try to do some more work/testing on it today.
