IE Toasted after Firefox install on U3 Flash Drive

Please help. I installed Mozilla Firefox for U3 from the menu on my SanDisk U3 Launch pad and my MS Internet Explorer (IE) no longer works on the host system.

IE launches but only has a desktop with no options that work. I have uninstalled and reinstalled IE from the Control Panel. This had no impact. I assume the IE settings were hosed. Note: This was the first time Firefox was introduced to the host system.

I would appreciate a lead on fixing the problem.

Unsupported

The current Firefox for U3 was not packaged by PortableApps.com. It's based off a very old version of Firefox Portable's code with additions not created or tested by us, has multiple bugs, leaves data behind and is unsupported by PortableApps.com and Mozilla.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

I have had similar problems

I have had similar problems. U3 is not at all portable. I recently found traces of registry and temporary files left behind by my U3 drive, and my Internet Explorer has definitely slowed down.

I have tried reinstalling IE a couple of times and it seems slightly better, but I am not going to risk editing the browser's registry files.

Perhaps you could try the SanDisk or U3 help sites.

U3 life cycle ending soon

I have a Sandisk U3 and learned some months ago that its life cycle is about at the end. There is virtually no new development. That's why I used the U3 wipe to format my key and now use PortableApps exclusively.

Please type slower, I can't keep up!
