Ive seen a version of blender in beta testing that was using python for its scripting, and although gimp already comes with its scheme interpreter I was wondering if it were in anyway possible to be able to use python for gimp as a portable app. Im not sure how helpful this would be but heres some of the documentation on it, Im guessing only the first paragraph or 2 would be of use.

sry if this has come up before I searched and didnt find anything..

Gimp Python
I want to know how this is coming along. As far as posts all over the internet is concerned, GIMP comes pre-bundled with Python support, but it needs to be enabled at setup by doing a custom install. This is not possible with GIMPPortable as the package is custom built without Python enabled.
If anybody who know how to add this support to this GIMP, please let us know how to do it, or be so kind as to compile a binary with support added.
This requires a local install of both Python and PyGTK+, so it's not portable.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
