PenSuite
-uses A-Suite as launcher
-hosts both open source and "free" apps
-links to warez sites (....)
-and links to PortableApps.com and others
-license issues are bypassed by a link to the developpers site which doesn´t explain anything
-presents a large bundle of different apps, but not every app is really portable just because you can download it as a .zip file
PortableApps is, ehm, just look around here and find the answer yourself..

lupo also has illegally modded versions of both Portableapps soft and other soft. for instance, Gimp portable is Gimp Plus to them with a few mods, same for VLC "plus".

that they link to / get their material from a site that says "don´t ask me for the source" and offers Firefoxportable with official logo... That´s a warez site. If it´s ok for you. Don´t mind..
Respecting seargent siler´s accuse I can´t say much, cause the source for the vcl launcher isn´t included, else I can´t find a license text declared so, GNU license is hidden in a txt file called "copy" within vlc player folder. I think their package isn´t that trustworthy as it may look at first glance.

OK, you should have mentioned this before, I missed this fact. It still doesn't make this software illegal though.
However the fact that VLC is GPLed probably does. Or to be precise - it does unless Lupo Pen Suite or the warez site received permission from VLC team to distribute this w/out full sources.

that you have a big bunch of apps, quite useful, and you are linked to Lupo Pen suite from everywhere. They host a lot stuff from here and other serious sites and mix it with some apps, lets say compilations, of at least doubtful source. You don´t see that at first glimpse and that is apart from any legal issues not ok..

I see nothing wrong in hosting software from unreliable sources as long as you thoroughly tested it.
You seem to pressume that he didn't, which is a wrong approach.
But this post shows that indeed he probably doesn't do any tests. Shame on him.

it is illegal for things like redistributing there own slightly modded version of FF portable with the official logo without permission. you can find the main discussion here.
I downloaded Lupo Pen Suite, and my alarms get krazy... they have a copy of nPOP with a trojan... and is not a false positive... I repeat, is not a false positive...
I use nPOP (downloaded from the real site) together with Thunderbird, and it doesn't fire such alarms... it only happens with the Lupo's prepackaged nPOP.

You shouldn't throw such strong accusations unless you can prove them.
Can you?

I can't find any evidence there.
The only thing I see there is that LPS are not the authors of the launcher. No problem.

lupo is pretty lame, sereously. the menu is junk, it is absolutely horrible at folder orginisation and it is just another PApps wannabe.
