A possible suggestion for the Menu

When you go to install a Portable App through the menu, you still have to say you agree with where it's going to install it. Wouldn't it make sense to just have it install automatically without needing to know where if it is installing through the menu?

I mean, If i'm using the menu, there is only one place it should be installing to, shouldn't it?

You could have a command line switch to run between a normal installation and an installation through a menu, so that when run normally, it asks where to save it.

Sorry if this sounds a bit jumbled up, but this is my first post here.

What if I already have one

What if I already have one version of OpenOfice and I want to install another version as well (possibly another language or a test release), this would be very inconvenient.

As it is it isn't too bad if you do want it in the default location. Only one extra click Smile

...

Yes it would be more convenient but you have to agree to the license each time because the license you agreed to before is only for that specific version (as far as I know).

I suppose but

First, couldn't you label the Folders Differently for different version and languages?

Second, Ok, but maybe it would just ask you to agree to the license instead of making you agree as well as pick a destination.

The menu could have a setting to change the default location or not use this system at all.

hmmmm

Well that would be a HUGE pain in the *** when installing new versions because we would have to tell the installer to rename it which would be HARD. So that wouldn't be doable :S

Second, Ok, but maybe it would just ask you to agree to the license instead of making you agree as well as pick a destination.
Well maybe but then we would have to integrate another thing into a menu and the installer and also people still sometimes like to install it to their own custom locations even if the menu is their....

A request

Posting this here rather than add another new thread for it. Just want to request that the menu stays its current on screen size. I have noticed the difference in the original 1.1 menu and miss it. I am noe relunctantly using the mod 34 as I have too many apps to be practical in 1.1 Anyway thats the request. Thanks : )
