I was just wondering if Infrarecord is still being worked on, or the new version was impending or anything. I'm pretty happy with it, and am almost ready to ditch Nero and roll with ALL FOSS apps. The only thing left not GPL on my Windows boxes (and VMs) is GTA:San Andreas, and a few SNES roms.
PS I was trying to give Infrarecord it's own forum topic, but I guess that's only for admins.
As for your SNES Roms try using ZSNES portable avalible in the beta section of the forum. Most emulators will run off a thumb drive or even a floppy in the case of NESTICLE (i have experience there ).
The CD burning software is great but i found it lacks some of the features avalible in the Nero or Roxio suite of software. This would be highly remedied with DeVeDe.
Good luck and have fun
yeah, i've been working on the new infrarecorder a bit. i'll see if i can finish it after work tomorrow. sorry for the delay
Word of warning if you're planning to switch away from Nero: InfraRecorder still has a major issue: On a lot of newer machines, you'll receive DMA speed warnings (DMA not fast enough to burn at desired speed) and the burn will silently abort midway. I've had this happen a few times already. I don't particularly like burning coasters. -_-
huh really, I never experienced that :S

There are three relatively new (as in, manufactured this year) Acer laptops and a brand new (few days old) Acer desktop in my house. InfraRecorder works fine on my laptop... but the other two laptops and the desktop all exhibit the aforementioned issue.
Also, a Gateway laptop I tested this on a couple months ago also had the same problem.
No problem on older machines, oddly enough--even at high burn speeds. Weird...
