Yep, foobar2000 is my most used portable app, too! No idea what I was thinking when I mentioned Sphere... I use foobar far more often! Only issue is that it doesn't seem to support relative paths. Not really a huge deal, since I have admin privileges on every computer I use and therefore can just change the letter to M: on all of them, but still...
foobar is basically what Winamp should have been: User friendly, plugin support, and lightweight. Winamp only has one of those going for it (recent versions of Winamp are so bloated that I can't really consider it user-friendly anymore)!
FreeCommander portable, Mempad by Horst Shaeffer, EssentialPimFree portable, SoftMaker Office 2006 Portable - This has just been released as freeware & is brilliant & lightweight - get it while you can.
This is a great news reader that runs portably. I'm not sure about anything being left behind, but it would be great if someone could make a launcher for it (it's not open source).
Here's a question: Who thinks these so-called polls should be moved to the off-topic forum?

Total Commander. Then a loong gap. Then...hmm...even longer gap. Then...I think I see Firefox somewhere on the horizon. Hand in hand with PowerPro.

self.path = path if self.path == None else self.path
I use Firefox running under XAMPP every day to develop PHP web sites. I'm new to Notepad++ but it seems like a pretty decent editor.
