I just tried the portable VLC Media Player 0.9.6 R2 as a clean install and on first run, it displays a window and asks for some input. I just wondered if the "update check"-checkbox could be unchecked by default?
Or is the update portable?
Or does it only notify me?
Even if it only notifies me, I still preferred it to not do that cause it would certainly send me to the official page...
There is a way to disable it.
Tools->Preferences->Interface Settings
Update notifier is at the bottom. I disabled it myself. This is not an issue at all. It's enabled by default but you can easily disable it.
We can't have it ask and have it unchecked. It asks if there is no settings. So, I think for now, this is the way it should be.
Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!
Thanks for the fast answer!
