First of all thank you for the excellent work provided through these "portabilised" apps.
I have not found any topic relating also let me ask the question: is it possible to change the location of the "profile" folder of FireFoxPortable (cl. 3.0.4) and if so how?

If you check out the help.html you'll find a link for advanced options. You can use an INI file to change the location. It's not really recommended because it breaks the ability to backup app data only with the PortableApps.com Platform and you'll need to manually update your INI file sometimes when you update the launcher (it gets updated every couple releases) but it definitely works.
