I was just wondering how much you like the 40 or so apps here that the developers have made and was wondering what you think.
Something like this:
1=Hate it 2=Don't like it 3=Don't really care 4=Like it 5=The best

5) I especially like the release of DVDStylerPortable by Zach Thibeau
What about that?
I would say DVDStylerPortable = 4.
Thats fixed now just need to release the fix
Hi Zach,
when will you release the fix? Or are you working on the new version 1.7.1?
DVDStylerPortable by Zach Thibeau? you made that right?
Zach's terrible app gave the site a bad name. his is probably a -100. But I will make that an outlier and say overall about a 4
Thanks,
Bensawsome
PS jk Zach
But...I could go 5. Some apps act like little gremlins sometimes, slow to react, etc. But I prefer them to the bloated commercial programs.
Gremlins awesome movie that was (sorry Off Topic but... hey it is the Off Topic forum :P)
The part at the end where they were getting wet and multiplying creeped me out when I was younger, though.
5 -- OpenOffice.org, Firefox, The GIMP, GNUcash, GVim, Inkscape, Thunderbird (I use these on my Mac so there inclusion in PostrableApps is vital)
4 -- Abiword (but that's because the Mac version doesn't work too well)
1 -- Pretty much everything else
0 -- LyX because it doesn't work otherwise it'd be up at 5.
Audacity gets A 5, it also needs to be update from 1.2 to 1.3.5 version...(it has better effects(
1.3.5 is a beta I don't think John Wants to use a beta
5. FF portable
6. Audacity
3. WinLAME portable
4. GIMP
5. VLC
5) AKELPAD!!! (it'll be out in the future :P)
Gimp gets a 4 but....need to know how to combine photos ...
You could try some of the tutorials at The GIMP tutorials page. Starts with the basics and goes through to the really complex stuff.
Alternatively there are personal sites/blogs with GIMP tutorials. For example, The GIMP Guru who can be found here and Meet the GIMP is here with loads of videos. There is a group on flickr where you can ask questions about The GIMP .
You could try searching YouTube which has a bunch of videos showing how to use and exploit The GIMP.
I've used all those resources to learn what The GIMP can do for me.
If those aren't enough then a Google search for "GIMP tutorial" will give you loads more places to look at and figure out how to combine photos. Also search for PhotoShop tutorial web sites as they are useful for learning techniques but one needs to be aware of the differences between the two programs.
I for one thank you, it'll be nice to improve my mediocre skills with the GIMP.
May I ask why you always use the reply button, even when you're not exactly replying to their message? It makes it hard on people since then can't go back and edit it.
I was going to got rid of the (coming out soon) message since I just go it in development testing.
i thought that when u post your supposed to post at the bottom of the page, if u noticed i always use the reply button on the last person that has commented...I thought it meant reply to the topic i didnt know it meant answer the question...so how exactly do i post then?
I wish i could work on AkelPad... oh well
(5 Firefox Portable
(5 Miranda Portable
(5 BPBible Portable
(4 GIMP Portable
(4 Celestia Portable
(4 Stellarium Portable
Heh. something like that i think for me...
Someone mentioned it!
Well, the apps I use get a 5. Doesn't really help anyone, but I use too many to put on a list. I'll just give the ones I don't use:
ConvertAll - 3
PeaZip - 3
Mac on Stick - 1
Miranda - 1
Nvu - 3
WinSCP - 3
GnuCash - 3
TaskCoach - 4
aMSN - 4
Celestia - 2
XAMPP - 3
Accessibility apps - 3
so that means you give dvdstyler portable a 5
Oh, nice
5) FireFox, PeaZip, 7Zip, PuTTY
4) Thunderbird, ClamWin, JKDefrag
most of other ones ranges from "don't care"/"don't like"... and the few "hate it" doesn't merit mention!
4=I like it
kudos to the many individuals who work to make the applications portable and functional. I have greatly enjoyed tinkering with my USB and the applications found here. I take them from Vista to XP without any issues.
5 - I use most of the apps.
EXCEPT - I Wish there was a reliable graphcalc portable edition on here.
Rate it a 5. Use at least one portable app daily. Keep up the good work.
Theres an app for nearly everything and I tend to use my portable at work and at home more so than the host pc apps.
