I use apps like FileZilla from PA but when they release a new version it tries to install the stand-alone exe not the PA version 
Is there any way that the PA runtime can do checks for newer PA optimized versions (or do the PA versions themselves need to be updated to do a different check)
In an ideal world a "Windows Update" type magic would happen and PA would keep itself and installed apps at the newest shiniest versions (with options to install beta versions, Gold versions and do it automatically or notify me first) - in the right place without me having to be aware that my drive was updated...
