Toucan on Vista / Vista x64

Hi everybody!

I'm currently using Vista 32bit on my laptop and I've tried to install Toucan on it. But during the installation process I always get the error message, that the files could not be copied to the program files directory. Where is the failure? As directory "\toucan" is proposed, but I've also tried "C:\program files\toucan".

Secondly, I plan to migrate to Vista 64bit these days: can I also use Toucan on a 64bit operating system?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Many

locations are restricted in Vista, have you tried right clicking on the installer and running it with elevated rights?
As for 64bit it should work fine, I have not tested it there myself however.

I don't normally use toucan

I don't normally use toucan because I don't have a use for it. (Although I may in the near future.) However, it certainly opens properly on my Vista64 machine. (I haven't run a backup or anything yet.) Most 32 bit programs run properly.

64 is fine

I'm running Toucan installed on my new laptop running Vista 64 Premium. Backups and restores are fine, I haven't tried any encryption.

Thanks for your answers!

Thanks for your answers! It seemed to be a problem regarding user privileges in Vista. Unfortunately, the tool does not provide the functionality I was looking for, so I had to remove it again.
