Hi,
I don't manage to read my new emails since two hours and now decided to search for support here.
I use TBP 2.0.0.18 with wine.
When I tried to open a local folder (IMAP) containing new emails, the programme hanged. The problem did not occur with unread emails, only with folders with emails I just downloaded (and with one folder whose only special characteristic is that it is a sub-folder of another folder). After minimizing and resizing I was only able to see the title bar of TBP and so I terminated the programme.
Things I tried already:
* deleting the .msf files of some of the affected folders
* new install of TBP via wine and copying the Data folder into the new programme
I don't know what to do anymore... maybe something went wrong with the download of the mails, but I don't know how to fix that.
that this problem is not related to imap. Sometimes I encounter the same problem that TBP shows only the titlebar after minimizing window and resizing it afterwards. This is what saves me:
When there is only the titlebar of TBP to see, I click the TBP icon at the left side of the titlebar. A little menu opens where I choice 'restore window'. Everything just works fine for me after. Does this help for you, too?
Regards,
Volker
The programme already behaved strange before minimzing. And resizing it with the right click menu didn't help...
Today the programme didn't even finish downloading new mail. It stopped while downloading the first mail. Starting the programme offline without downloading new mails worked as I described before.
With no ideas on how to solve this, I tried the following:
I tried to open one of the possibly broken folder files with Kate and there was an error message saying that the file was supposed be UTF-8 encoded but contained invalid characters. Could this be problem?
It also said that the file is set to read-only to prevent destroyed content when saving. Could this be problem? But then again, the "properties" dialogue sais that I *am* able to read and write...
I had deleted the msf files to make the programme restore them by itself. Now I compared the msf files and found out that they are quite different. However, I don't know what that means...
If nobody knows what the problem could be then it would be very useful for me to get some kind of information on how the folder file with the mails in it is supposed to look like so I can search for errors there.
Don't know if this is useful for anyone but I'll keep on posting about the problem...
I tried to run my TBP on another computer today, it was with xubuntu and wine and there it worked! But when I tried it on the Kubuntu PC again it didn't work again. The strange thing is that I already ran TBP on a Kubuntu PC successfully... suppose it's a special problem with this one... (settings etc)
