Portable Openoffice 3 Trojan Keylog-sters

Hi, I've been having problems with the new portable OO3. Whenever I try to run it, my "Spyware Doctor" software reports that OO3 is tying to install the Trojan: Keylog-sters. If I block this then OO3 says it has failed to install and won't run. If I allow it it does start but I'm obviously concerned. Previous versions worked fine.
Is this a false positive by SD or ...

'Trojan.Keylog-sters' found by Spyware Doctor

Yes, me too! PC Tools Spyware Doctor insists that OO3 contains a 'high risk' keylogger. I've tried reinstalling OO3, but Spyware Doctor continues to block it.

This is a very common anti-Spyware package, and although prone to 'low level' false positives, I've never seen it raise a high level alert before.

So please gentlemen, what's going on??!!

False Positive

As long as you can verify that it is the official release (check for the Rare Ideas, LLC digital signature or verify the MD5 sum) of the installer it is a false positive. This is not the first false positive that Spyware Doctor has had... it's not even the first time it's had this issue with OpenOffice.org Portable. Please contact them to have them fix their issue.

Thanks for the quick reply, I

Thanks for the quick reply, I will look into the MD5 check. But how do Spyware Doctor get a package so very misidentifed, if OO3 is clean?

Ask Them

You'd have to ask them. Just from a quick search of our own forums, they did the same exact thing a year and a half ago, also with OpenOffice.org Portable.
