Do you need to know the registry changes the app makes to make a PA?

I already read the Guerrilla Field Guide thingy....but I'm hopeless. I can't communicate with that sort of stuff...but i really want 2 make my very own PA. I'm a VB6 grade 10 student...that's my only exposure to programming (along with some stone-aged pascal). I know the apps you need before u make a portable app.....but what the hell do you do?

You need the installer of the app...right? and then you need 2 know the registry changes it makes. OH!...4 the reg. changes thing, there is a site and a Firefox/IE plugin called McAfee Site Advisor (its free and works great). its tells u if sites are safe or not....and if u go 2 their site http://www.siteadvisor.com/ and type in the name of the site u got the *app you're trying 2 make portable* installer download from....it'll bring up a page with the site and almost all downloads available from the site. if u click on a download and select a detailed analysis, it states the reg. changes the app makes. can u use those for your PA development or is it wrong. can some1 who made a PA compare the reg changes they got with the ones on the site....say 4 Firefox or some other OFFICIAL APP FROM THIS SITE?

can someone also translate the how 2 make a PA in2 'dummy, hopeless-people' language:-P

Thank you,
Yours sincerely

Regshot

Use regshot to track registry changes. There is even a portable version on the test page: https://portableapps.com/development/test

yea i kno that....

but can i also use the method stated above? will that give me the same results? .....rather than me having 2 install more software (providing the software used is listed on the site).

But....

Hey folks, I have this problem because I'm totally in the dark. I have no idea what I'm doing, but I think I can solve it by doing XYZ and ABC and jumping up and down on one foot. Oh, that entire thing you guy wrote telling me exactly how to do it is just too much for me to understand. So now I have even more problems because the help offered just isn't the help I want. And then the simple solution given later isn't what I want either.

I want to do it the way I started to do it even though it doesn't make sense to anybody who knows anything, but why oh why do you guys want to tell me to do it differently when I ask for help?

Hmmm...

and jumping up and down on one foot
Which one, the right or left foot? I think that should be clarified! Oh, and what is right? lol
