Image zoom clarity program

Hey - do you know of any programs that can clarify a zoomed image... you know like the stuff we see in movies where a special software somehow manages to actually zoom the picture without making it all pixels?

Hopefully you understand what I mean - if not I'll try to explain further maybe with some images...

I don't think that's what he wants.

He wants an app that fixes blown up images.

Like for example. If you blow up somebody's avvie so you could see their face better, it looks all weird. And you can see each individual pixel. So the result would be horrible.

AlienSkinBlowup for Photoshop

AlienSkinBlowup for Photoshop lets you enlarge pictures clearly, but it only looks as good as the source. If your source image is grainy, blurry, distorted, etc. don't expect much.

I understand your question, but I don't know of any programs that do it. It pretty much seems impossible. How would you get the information from a file that doesn't supply any? I know that doesn't make much sense but I hope you get what I mean. If anyone DOES know of a program I'd like to know about it too. Blum

Liquid Resize for The GIMP

As I understand the requirement it might be possible to use the Liquid Resize plug-in in the The GIMP. Certainly the original paper suggests that intelligent resizing works but it does depend upon the original image.

Yes, I understand that the stuff we see on movies is over-hyped but I was thinking that with some contrast/color/blur, etc. tweaking it could actually be enlarged.

Anyways - thanks for your suggestions everyone!
