If I went to a cyber cafe and plugged in my drive, opened my email, surf the net etc... Are there any tracks left on that PC? Or if for some strange reason, my work PC got caught up in court case and was removed as discoverable evidence and a forensic expert got hold of it. How much information would be available pertaining to any portable software I am using.
Jeff
Now I sound like I am doing something wrong, but then again, by most company standards any surfing or personal email is wrong so there you go.
This has been answered in-forum on several occasion and is always detailed under known issues on the support pages for every single app. Searching is always a good idea before posting.
So... once again...
NO apps leave any personal details behind. If they did, they wouldn't be on this site (Re-read the definition of a portable app which states "And when you unplug the device, none of your personal data is left behind.") Some leave minor traces (like Firefox's list of installed plugins) and these are detailed under Known Issues on the app's support page.

So on school computers, there is no C drive (at least none shows up in My Computer, and I don't think I would have the privelages to write to it) because they all run off the server. So then woult Portable Firefox leave that stuff behind?
Please re-read known issues. It details everything. As very clearly stated, a single directory, %userprofile%\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox, is created. Wherever your USERPROFILE directory exists on your school computers, it will be created there.

So if I removed all my plug ins ,that entry wouldn't be created?
(I saw FAQ in the firefox support, but not "Known issues")
I don't want to have ANY files written to the host pc, is this possible with portable Firefox?
It will detect plugins from the local PC. It will be created unless you use the userprofile option.
