Most school networks block access to the system tray on their computers (you don't even see it) so you can't click on an already running PAM icon to see it. Also it's a hassle to find the root folder of your USB device to double click on "Start PortableApps".
Can we implement (by we I mean you all:-P) a feature like U3's where there a little live button sitting on your desktop that you are able to click to open your running PAM?
Also when we use the eject button on PAM, most school computers block the feature that allows you to safely remove. U3 however still allows you to do it. Is there a way you can use an eject feature that does not use Windows' eject feature (pardon my bad sentence construction).
Also with Windows, it just says that you can't safely remove if there is something running or accessing your device. With this eject feature, can you stop all processes from running from and accessing your device; and then remove the drive?
(Oh, I knew there was a post discussing upcoming features but I couldn't find it. Move/link this post to that thread if you want/can)
Thanks,
Love your work

There's an app called EjectUSB.
I used the mod Menu to set the EjectUSB to launch when I click on the Eject Button on the Menu. If you want, I can show you how to do this.
EjectUSB Closes all the running applications on the drive. It also functions like the u3 Ejection button. So you don't have to open up that Eject Drive window and click on safely remove.
For your other question, there's this app.

The preview is right over here...

Hope this helps.
Use http://quick.mixnmojo.com/usb-disk-ejector with ejectUSB (read the readme.txt) as its default method probably won't work at school.
that helps a lot!!!
How do you set EjectUSB to launch when clicking on the Eject Button on the menu?
Sorry to keep you waiting 5 days.
To do this... you need The Modified Menu over here. It will not work with the regular one.
Directions for installing are over here.
At the top it will explain on how to install new themes into the menu. Scroll down a little for installing the Mode Menu.
Alright....
Now browse to where you installed EjectUSB and copy files EjectUSB.exe and EjectUSB.ini into [x]:\PortableApps\PortableAppsMenu\Data\Theme"
Delete or rename EjectScript (Depends on if you want to keep it or not).
Rename EjectUSB.exe, EjectScript.exe
That's it.
For other themes that come with an EjectScript.exe in it's theme folder... Repeat the process in that folder.
You can open PAM without the tray by pressing [Windows Key] + P. Push it again to close it.
