Now, to answer your question.
The developers of the various apps are generally subscribed to the distribution channels for the upstream applications, so almost always know when new versions are out. In some cases, they actually get the versions before their mainstream release.
They are, however, very busy with their own lives as well as voluntarily contributing to this site, but will get to the updates as soon as they can.
Because of this, it is considered very bad form to ask about update to the main supported application on these forums.
