Flash cards better than USB?

I read that John says that for some cards that ture. I was looking at getting a new usb (nothing slower than a 20X speed), but if flash is better, should i get fast flash SD card and reader instead?

I was looking at getting the Transcend JetFlash 110 2GB Flash Drive, which Tomshardward has recomended, and speed test suggest this too. But i've done a bit of searching and found that a 2gb SD + Reader is acutally chapaper. I'm no worried about price, rather performance and portability.

Whats everyones thoughts?

*Sorry i posted this on another post, but thought it's probably more relevant as a new topic,

No, I didn't

I said that flash-based devices are usually faster than those mini 5GB portable hard drives. By USB... I'm guessing you mean a USB key... aka USB thumbdrive... aka USB flash drive. USB sticks drives use flash ram.

No

It all depends on the flash ram used. It varies greatly. But similar speed flash ram will work about the same in SD, Compact Flash or a USB thumbdrive (assuming a good controller in the USB drive and the card reader)
