Portable OO.o 3.0.0 over 2.4.1??

Can I upgrade 2.4.1 by installing 3.0.0 over it??

The installation instructions don't seem to address this.

Thanks!
And thanks, John, and the rest for an outstanding collection of portable applications!!

In-Place Upgrade = Install Right Over

We call them "in-place upgrades" and ALL applications in PortableApps.com Format support it. It's a required part of the specification. So, unlike random zipped portable software, installation and upgrades always work the same way without you needing to worry about manually moving or changing anything.

Sometimes, the impossible can become possible, if you're awesome!

Thanks!!! for the clarification on installs.

That is a clarification I needed.

I have "installed" a few "run from it's load directory" programs within the Portable Apps menu and forgot that the apps specifically developed and featured here are completely different animals with their own great features like the "in-place upgrades" you have mentioned.

Kudos to John and the rest of the Portable Apps gang!!!!

VLC = Copy And Drop?

I don’t believe all upgrades procedures are the same:

"save a copy of your PortableVLC\settings directory. Then download a new copy of VLC Portable and drop the contens of your old settings directory into the settings directory in the new copy."

I always need to read the support section before upgrading an app.

Outdated

That's outdated (I'll fix it now). Every app we have supports in-place upgrades and none are added unless they do.
