v6.7a not v7.1

I'm a bit confused, the post says Stickies 7.1, but the about box says 6.7a. 6.7a is also the latest version released on the Stickies website.

If you want, a while ago I

If you want, a while ago I made a launcher for both Stickies and Skinner. The Stickies launcher backs up the settings and skins. It also allows for the ini to change things, just like it works in Firefox. If you want the code I can send it to you.

Can you explain a bit more?

1.) Backup settings and skins. I have it store the stickies.ini (the settings file) and the store.mdb (the stored stickies file) in the Data directory. Anything in that folder is backed up by PAM.
2.) Allows for the ini to change things. I have no clue what you mean by that mind explaining a bit more?
3.) And yes if you are willing I would love to see your code my email address is below replying to dragonmage.
4.) As far as the Skinner code is I have one made but I'd like to see yours too. I'm undecided if I want to have that in the same installer or separate...I might keep it the same.

The directory would look like

X:\PortableApps\StickiesPortable:
..StickiesPortable.exe
..SkinnerPortable.exe
..App
..Data
..Other
X:\PortableApps\StickiesPortable\App
..AppInfo
..Stickies
..Skinner

The of course the standard info. I wouldn't want them sharing the same folder under app. What do you think? Anyone else want to insert their two cents worth?

A bit more explanation

1) I have the settings stored in ./Data/settings and the skins stored in ./Data/skins
2) I meant StickiesPortable.ini which allows you to change the exe name, app folder location, and data folder location.
3) I'll send the files on over.
4) I think you should have two folder, StickiesPortable and SkinnerPortable. It's two separate programs, so there should be two different install paths.

Still Skinning

Hey Jacob, I'm still working on some really cool skins for stickies. You aren't gonna believe what I've been able to do. I don't have net access at home now, so updates will be when I get to the library.

The download link does not work, because the nascent-project.org domain has moved and gets redirected. Sad Please post a new download link. Thanks!

John?

I don't know if you mean JohnTHaller or myself (I'm the actual developer of the portable app). Anyways while PNotes is a good app I personally prefer stickies. It seems to be more streamline nice and compact. While the notes work basically the same way as PNotes', stickies has a cool manage dialog. It works by creating (storing) stickies within a database. You can edit and create notes within categories using it like a notebook. Each stickies acts like it's own little WordPad. So you have both the notebook and the desktop environment. You can also save stickies as .sti files and their skins as .ssk. You can find tons of skins at the apps skin page. One major thing to me is that Stickies has API functions while PNotes does not. Stickies also has the ability of working over a network so you can send notes to friends via email or your server. Try them both out for yourself and see which you like better.

Using regular install of Stickies 6.7a w/ no problems

I just installed it into the drive:/PortableApps/ folder and refreshed the app icons. Works perfectly afai can tell. Sometimes it doesn't display all the notes when first starting and I have to unhide them.
What am I missing? Why does there need to be a portable version?
Btw, it is much better than Pnotes imo.

Thanks,
AZ

unhide?

I would assume it's because you're going from a monitor with a higher resolution to a monitor with a smaller one. So when you start the stickies are off screen. And the reason for the portable version is it allows you to take your stickies to other computers.
