Would be nice if the "mover" could be skinned, and positioned where the skinner wanted it. Could you put a delay on the mover appearing also?

No, I mean delaying it from popping up as soon as you put the cursor over the form. You don't need to see the mover every time you open the menu. It should stay hidden unless you hover over the form for a few seconds.

Just wondering, any luck on that remember position thing yet?

Also want to report that I have not seen the multiple listings for PortableAppsMenu.exe in task manager since the update to PAMDI beta9 I think.

Error with PAM 1.5

Should I freak out now?!?!?
PAMDI is not launching on PAM 1.5.

No, I found the problem.

This is for Beta 10
In the AppInfo file:

[Version]
PackageVersion: 1.9.0.0
DisplayVersion: Beta 9

[Control]
Icons=1
Start=PAMDI.exe

Should be:

[Version]
PackageVersion=0.10.0.0
DisplayVersion=Beta 10

[Control]
Icons=1
Start=PAM Desktop IconPortable.exe

In order to be compatible with PAM 1.5

My 2 cents

May the Shwartz be with you

I made a new custom launcher it still opens PAM + PAMDI but there is no window that pops up. and i changed the autorun so that your flash drive says PAM & PAMDI instead of start PAM and PAM Desktop Icon

Great App!
One problem: When I press the button, the menu appears in the background behind other windows. I have to minimize other windows to see the menu. This happens almost every time.
I'm using the latest menu alt the latest icon version.
Please fix this.

One more thing: The Portable Apps Menu detects when you unplug your flash drive and auto closes but the icon remains opened. You should make the Icon detect when the Menu closes and close too.

The Launcher uses .NET

Can you make the Launcher not use .NET, as some comp's don't have it.

.Net means no go

Sorry leogx but /.NET means it can't become official. Also pc's with no .NET install won't run the app at all. I'm actually surprised this didn't come to light earlier. Might be worth learning another language to port his to such as C++ or Lazarus?

Where do I find Beta 12?

Anyone know where to find Beta 12? The link at the top of the page is incorrect (.htm missing from end of URL) and when you add it and go to that location you get a message, "This shared file or folder has been removed."!

PAMDI Icon stays on top of PortableApps Menu

I'm finding that when I click on the PAMDI icon, the PortableApps menu opens but the PAMDI icon is still on top of it, even with the Never on Top option set. I have to click on the PortableApps menu to make it disappear. I'm using WindowsXP Pro SP3.

Never on Top not remembered

Here's something else for you to think about: yesterday I set the "Never on Top" option. This morning, when I plug in the USB and fire it up I find that PADMI has reverted to "Always on Top".

Idea for inprovement.

Instead of trying to run the "StartPortableApps.exe" in the root menu, maybe you can make an option for the user to select which program to run. For those of us who use forks, such as the MenuMod30, the "StartPortableApps.exe" says "This isn't a valid PortableApps.com release" and it doesn't open the menu. Also, if you give them an option of what to run, they can make the PAMDI run on plugin with autorun, and if they use PStart or another launcher, this app can be a good add-on for them.

Personally I just want this so that I can use this amazing app with MenuMod30. I can wait though...

Old

FYI, the MenuMod R30 is two years old, and I believe John recruited the majority of the MenuMod Developers to work on the official menu. If you really can't live without extra features, I would suggest Geek.Menu (last updated only 1 year ago)or the like (I use ASuite because it's fast).

Even with MenuMod R34...

Even with Menu Mod R34, the same problem exists. Unless I copy the whole thing into the root of my drive and show the "Data" and "App" folder in the root of my drive, the PAMDI doesn't work.

Fixed my problem

Nevermind, I found a workaround to this problem. Just in case anybody else is interested, use this link to learn how to convert .bat files into .exe. You can make a .bat that runs your modified menu, then convert it to an .exe. Full instructions are given at the link I posted.

Awesome

I really like this because i know of a few places where they hid the status icon area. But i was wondering that instead of your own menu could you just use the PortableApps Menu?

Having this integrated with the main menu would be awesome.

Thanks.

Similar functionality will be built into the PortableApps.com Platform in 2.0 or 2.1.

I have noticed that PAMDI Cannot be open more than once.

I don't know if my subject was bad, but here's the problem. I have 2 removable flash drives. They both have PAM and PAMDI. Only 1 drive will have PAMDI out and the other drive will not. Both PAM menus will load, but the PAMDI program that loads first is now the only Icon the shows. Any ideas?

I Can't Launch PAMDI v.12

??? I click the icon and all it shows is the PortableApps Beta spalsh screen. Then nothing happens. I looked at the task manager and found that right after the splash screen the PAMDI program dies. Any reasons or suggestions as to why?

Outdated; No longer supported?

I am assuming this app is discontinued? Could this be a feature of the official PAM? I would love to see that implemented.

Please please PLEASE add this to the PAM.

PAM 2.0 broke this app cause of the name change of the Portable Apps exe at the root of the flash drive.
