Hello,
to check my e-mails during lunch break I'd much prefer to use portable Thunderbird than clunky Webmail. Portable Thunderbird works fine from home, but at work, it is denied access. To go on the internet at work, I need to supply a work user ID and password that are different from that for my personal e-mail account. The problem is it's not clear within Thunderbird's interface where that extra ID and password should be entered.
Does anyone have experience of storing 2 separate IDs in Thunderbird, so it has one to get on the internet in the first place and a second to get through to a Webmail account?

And you'll have to find out what the proxy is (in IE) by going to Tools - Internet Options - Connections - Lan Settings

I recommend this. With this I was ale to use FF Portable at work though not Thunderbird

Can this application still be used if the workplace has internet sites blocked? My place of work has a lot of sites blocked and was wondering if I can still use Thunderbird to check my home e-mail.
Any advise would be helpful. Thanks.
I personally can't use Thunderbird in my new workplace that has blocked sites but could in my previous that also had blocked sites. You'll have to test it out to determine as it all depends on your IT guys setup. So far I've found proxies kill my Thunderbird in one workplace and at Tafe (Like Australian community college). So yeah can only learn by experimenting.
