Snapfiles.com - Why isn't PortableApps listed?

So snapfiles.com even has a special "Handy Programs to put on a USB" section, but PA isn't there? I've contacted them several times with no response. Just thought it'd be a good place to list the suite, no?

Well first of all.

The apps hosted at PortableApps.com would be listed instead, not the site.

I do not know the answer, unfortunately.

But in the future, post a link to the site. Just incase there might be two sites and www.snapfiles.com and snapfiles.com they're completly different.

snapfiles.com links links to

snapfiles.com links links to www.snapfiles.com/[...] but the content on the right side have different links.

You can also submit PA to snapfiles. http://www.snapfiles.com/submit/ but idk how to register. Maybe a Snapfiles Pro account?

I'm wondering why the SUITE

I'm wondering why the SUITE (not site) is listed. I guess I assumed everyone knows what's at snapfiles.com (or http://www.snapfiles.com)

www.snapfiles.com is a source of information about and links to software. Some is free, some is not. Some is open-source, some is not. Users can suggest software to be listed. I've suggested the PortableApps SUITE several times, especially since there is a section on snapfiles entitled "Hand programs to put on a USB drive". I believe some are listed that are also "portabilized" by the PA suite.

I'm just saying that getting PA listed on snapfiles would be great for generating usage. Most people in my circles have known about snapfiles for years, but hardly anyone knows about PA, even now.

We Likely Won't

We likely won't take much concern in having out applications added to their directory and uploaded as we provide one download source, SourceForge.net. SourceForge is trusted and reliable, and is the only download source we recommend as we're the ones who upload the files and are sure they're official and virus-free.

Most, if not all, of the

Most, if not all, of the programs on snapfiles are hosted by Sourceforge or the developer's site. Snapfiles.com is merely a listing of available software that is categorized by use/application and has been tested to make sure there are no viruses or other malware present.

Everyone, please visit snapfiles.com if you don't know what it is.

FWIW, I am not affiliated with snapfiles.

I'd never heard of them

I'd never heard of SnapFiles. I use FileHippo for downloading freeware apps. They have some shareware/trialware, but not as much as Snapfiles. I'd like them a lot better if they'd let me register an account and choose the software I use the most, and then notify me when it gets updated. That aside...

I'm not sure I would agree that PortableApps is appropriate for their site:

A link to this site would be counterproductive as they might rely on advertising revenue - just to get that out of the way. (I wouldn't know, I use Adblock Plus in my Firefox. Mwa ha ha ha ha.)

Listing the suite wouldn't be appropriate for them. It's a huge installer with a ton of apps, IIRC it doesn't allow you to deselect ones you don't want (does it?) and every last app in there is outdated (right?).

Listing individual apps wouldn't work so well because the splash screens look good when included with the menu, but if it's just the one app you have on your flash drive, it might be seen as tacky.

Remember that PortableApps.com's thing is this menu with apps and everything's uniform. A lot of these portable app sites and listers are far less organized and, I'd guess, half expect you to not use a launcher.

If that makes any sense outside my head. I guess what I'm trying to say is that they aren't as organized as this site and have different goals.
