InfraRecorder skips all files

I have tried InfraRecorder several times now and also as current and previous version. For some reason it doesn't work with me at all and I always had to revert back to another recording software.
It does recognize the burning drive (I have two, one internal, one external), it also recognizes the disc (e.g. DVD+R), but the spacemeter I have to change manually as it doesn't apply the disc size automatically, and when I try burning (both on the fly and not on the fly, SAO, ...) the popup window tells me "building file tree", but it states "skipping file..." and basically skips all files of the compilation until it is left with nothing to write! What am I doing wrong? The help file is ridiculous.
